Dreamcatcher
The dreamcatcher, hung above the bed, is used as a charm to protect you while sleeping from nightmares.
The Ojibwa believe that the night air is filled with dreams, both good and bad. When a dreamcatcher is hung above the place where you sleep, it moves freely in the night air and catches the dreams as they drift by. The good dreams, knowing their way, slip through the center hole of the webbing sliding down the soft feathers gently to those sleeping below. While the bad dreams, not knowing the way, get tangled in the webbing and perish with the first light of the morning sun.
